National Ding-a-Ling Day is observed across the United States each year on December 12.
Ding-a-Lings on this day call the people they haven’t heard from in a while. It may be an old classmate, co-worker or neighbor from years ago. Or perhaps a call will go out to the child who used to mow the grass during the summer. How about that couple who carpooled for soccer. What was their name? There are all sorts of people in our lives who manage to slip out of our lives who would love to hear the ding-a-ling of a call from you or me. Why don’t you join the Ding-a-ling club and call someone this year?
HOW TO OBSERVE
Call someone you haven’t heard from in a long time and use #NationalDingALingDay to post on social media.
What do you like the best light (daylight) or dark (nightlight) skies? For me it’s a tough question. Light gives me energy, Light gives me strength, Light gives me hope for a new day, Light gives me comprehension for the day, Light gives me a warm feeling when when the flowers start to bloom,
Dark gives me an unfathomable feeling, Dark gives me shivers, Dark gives me an extra sense of what is going on, Dark gives me courage to be a beacon of light, Dark gives me a smile when watching fireworks in the night sky. Dark gives me rest from an bonkers day of doing things.
Dot: Who is sitting with Abby? Hope: That’s William. Dot: William who? I don’t remember seeing him around. Hope: You have to be kidding? Watch this. As I’m waving my hand gentle and yelling – Hey Abby! Hey William! Dot: Hope are you kidding me? The way you yelled, and, and oh my gosh! He has to be the most self-absorbed person. Hope: He didn’t even turn around did he? Dot: Nope Hope: I would say he is full of egocentricity!! That’s why you never met him. Dot: You are really showing your “Bonker Schnozzle” today!! Hope: Hey! My “Bonker Schnoz” is okay in more ways than one. I forgive you Dot. Dot: Thank you so much. You are the best “Bonker’s” friend anyone can have.
Hope: In today’s world we have several types of “zoo”. Abby: Boy you can say that again! Hope: In today’s world Abby: I was only joking! You live in a “bonkers” zoo. Hope: Well thank you Abby. Hope: Ya know Abby you live in a “persnickety” zoo.
Hope: What do you mean there are gremlins? Abby:You haven’t noticed them? Hope:Uh oh! I just saw one. So now what do I do? Abby: I have no idea! Hope:What do you mean you have no idea!!!!
Abby: You could take a picture so everyone you tell about your gremlins, they won’t think you are totally BONKERS! Hope: Wait! Wait! they’re not gremlins. Those are my penguin statues. Abby, you really need new glasses.
Added our favorite items: bat wings eye of newt tip of rat’s tail hair of werewolf for an extra kick Jalapeno pepper Ghost pepper (no pun intended) Green, yellow & orange peppers for a little Stir for 20 minutes Simmer over very, very low flame for an hour of a “Beacon’s Bell”! I’m running out of hat suggestions for Milo! He is sooooo picky!
Now I think Milo is over doing it! Sometimes he acts like a king, the way he talks when he wants his dinner. He changes his tone when he see’s a can or pouch of food in my hand, plus he gives me that sad, sad look like he hasn’t eaten in hours.
