On Blase’ Day, we have permission to be blase’ toward just about anything.
Of French origin meaning to be indifferent or bored with life, unimpressed, as or as if from an excess of worldly pleasures.
Unimpressed by pumpkin spice everything? It’s okay to be blase’ about it today. Heard the same pop song for the 4th time today? Be blase’. Nothing on TV tonight? Just be blase’. Bored by your friend’s team winning their 266th game in a row? Yep, you got it. Whether it’s that 20 page Christmas letter, your mom’s constant picture taking or the fifth night of leftover pizza, you can be blase’.
HOW TO OBSERVE
There are also several ways to express your blase’ feelings. Meh. Yawn. Tune out. Use #BlaseDay to post on social media.
My idea of social media is talking with people face to face.
1 cup plus 4 tsp. Almond Breeze Almond Coconut Blend almondmilk
4 tsp. mini semisweet chocolate chips
8 slices day-old Italian bread (½” thick)
4 large eggs; lightly beaten
2 Tbsp. butter or vegetable oil
Toasted coconut; optional
Combine almond butter, 4 teaspoons almond milk, and 4 teaspoons mini chocolate chips
Spread 4 slices of bread with almond mixture. Top with the remaining slices of bread.
Whisk together remaining almond milk and eggs in 13”x 9” baking dish. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture, soaking for 2 minutes per side.
Heat 1 tablespoon butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place 2 of the sandwiches in skillet. Cook 2 minutes per side or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining sandwiches and butter or oil. Top with coconut and syrup, if desired.
Almond butter and mini dark chocolate chips sandwiched between golden slices of egg-battered bread – it’s a reason to roll out of bed! Be sure to use bread that is at least a day old – stale bread soaks up the tasty almondmilk-egg batter better than fresh. Almond Coconut almondmilk is delicious in this recipe – vanilla, banana and even chocolate varieties are also super tasty. For a decadent take, double the filling.
Another great part of Thanksgiving is the variety of veggies that are cooked in cream sauce, served with veggie sauce on the side, steamed with added sea salt and your favorite seasonings, broiled, grilled.
How about a vegetable platter with a couple of different dips or hummus. You can also stuff some veggies.
Me I use peas, cream corn, string beans. Yes they are canned.
Remember some people out there don’t care for fresh or steamed veggies.
turkey, ham, meatloaf, beef, pork, venison, shrimp, crab, fish, etc.
did I just type fish! Oh my gosh!!
Yes I did. How about Wild Caught Salmon from what I have read “wild” is better than “farm” raised. How do you cooked it? There are many, many recipes you can find on the web youtube.com, Pinterest.com, allrecipes.com a favorite cookbook
Okay that is it for now. I listed so many options I have no idea what to cook.
Do yo know what you are cooking? Nine (9) days to go. Yikes!!!!
I’m sure many of you know you can return unopened bags of candy where you brought them from. If you have your receipt you will get the price you paid, if you don’t you will get the sale price of Halloween.
Check with your areas some dentists will take your candy, may give you a small payment, then they ship it to the troops overseas.
You can always check your local areas, churches, clubs, retirements, activity centers.
And now it’s time to start planning November days coming up.
